1. National / Regional / Local test candidates are required to attend the Clinic on Saturday November 10th (details below).All others (if you‘re an IJF or National ref already, or your a Regional referee NOT testing for National),we‘re just delighted to have you and attendance at the Clinic is very much encouraged but optional.  If your travel requires it you can just attend the Officials’ Meeting the day of the tournament on November 11th.
  2. If you have Regional Refs in your dojos who might want to take the National Referee test, this will be a great opportunity that does not require flying far away and testing among unfamiliar people.Please encourage test takers to review the linked Refereeing Judo manual in advance, which will greatly help toward their success.  The manual has been updated with the latest interpretations which will be applied at our tournament.
  3. Please bring your radios and earpieces:  we will be running electronic scoreboards AND Care System on all four mats, so this will be excellent practice for higher level tournaments.We will also have earpieces for sale and an assortment of radios that you can borrow with a cash deposit but those are mostly meant for new test takers and other beginners that don’t own radios yet.

Also Regional and Local Clinic and Testing with a pre-Clinic starting at 10am

The tournament will be a testing and evaluation site for national and regional referees.

Referee and Coach Workshop/Clinic AND written tests for candidates will be held on Saturday, November 10th,starting at 10am for Regional and Local attendees and at 11am for National Clinic attendees.

 

National Written Exam will be given at  4:00pm.

Local and regional tests will also be given  to other referee candidates.

Clinic Attendance is mandatory for candidates testing at any level, but others may instead attend only the Officials Meeting on the day of the tournament.

 

ATTIRE:

Attire for both clinic and tournament is IJF/National referee uniform for IJF/national referees, and gray slacks and white polo shirt for local and regional referees.

Instructions for National Candidates only:

REQUIREMENTS: National referee exam candidates must provide copies of the following documentation; no originals please.

  • Digital 2″x2″ high resolution photo (2 megapixel or better), against a plain background, which you will email to the people listed below.
  • Copy of proof of age and US citizenship/permanent residence. Passport or birth certificate are acceptable; driver’s license is not.
  • Copy of Dan Rank proof (Rank certificate or Rank validated USA Judo/USJI card).
  • Copy of dated Regional Referee Certificate.
  • Proof of USA Judo membership (current USA Judo/USJI card or Life Membership).
  • Background investigation results on file or download and submit background form to get it started. You can ask the USJF office to share the one they did for any dan promotion for you to USA Judo. The referee commission doesn’t want the results, they want it on file with USA Judo.
  • Examination fee; see below.
  • Notify the following people of your intention to be tested:

For National candidates only: Please use Subject “PAJC NATIONAL TEST”

For all candidates, please indicate in the Subject what level you are testing for: “PAJC NATIONAL TEST” or “REGIONAL/LOCAL TEST”

The Clinic cost will be $35 for CENCO members and $40 for members of clubs outside CENCO; Clinic attendance checks should be written to CENCO. 

National Candidates: In addition to the Clinic fees, please be prepared to write a check/checks for $30 for the USA Judo examination fee, and then for successful candidates a check for $20 for National Referee registration. Make these two checks payable to USA Judo.
