Just a reminder to check the calendar for all the great judo events coming up soon.
On Sunday, October 21, TriValley Judo in Pleasanton will be hosting an open mat for juniors age 6-14. There is no fee.
Also on that Sunday, and every Sunday, there is an open workout with Master CJ Lee at Do Martial Arts in Castro Valley. Come get a great workout with a former South Korean judo champion and local black belts from UC Berkeley, Stanford, and everywhere in between.
The next weekend there are two events. On Saturday the 27th, the Fukuda Kata Championships will be held at the City College of San Francisco. The day after, it’s the Hanabi Halloween Classic in Albany.
Next month it’s more great judo events with the Palo Alto tournament and the CCSF tournament being held on consecutive weekends.
Of interest to referees, the day before the Palo Alto tournament there will be a clinic and testing for both regional and national level referees.
The day before the CCSF tournament, Cenco will be holding our fall promotional exam!

This Sunday, October 7th, the 83rd Annual Capital Open will be held in Sacramento, California. This tournament is hosted by Sacramento Judo, one of the oldest judo clubs in the country.
In addition to regular shiai divisions for kids and adults, it also features kata competition and Master’s divisions for competitors age 30 and up!

The 2018 Keiko Fukuda Joshi Camp will be held from July 20 – 22 in Charleston, South Carolina. We would like to invite you to join us. Our special guest this year is Sensei Megumi Tachimoto from Japan. Sensei Tachimoto is the 2015 World Championship Silver Medalist, and 4 times World Champion, Bronze Medalist. On Saturday, July 21, the Camp is open to males/females/and children.
Also, we will conduct Kodokan Kata Class. Ju No Kata / Nage No Kata. This Fukuda Joshi Camp is for Shiai and Kata Judokas.

The California State Championships have been set for August 18th and 19th at Cerritos College. It will be a two day event with Bantam, Intermediate, Juvenile A, IJF and Jr. Novice contested on Saturday, and Kata, Cadet, Senior, Masters, and Sr. Novice contested on Sunday. It will be hosted by Taishi Judo Club.

There will be satellite weigh ins, with the locations TBD.
There will be a kata clinic with Sensei Eiko Shepherd on June 2nd and 3rd at Soko Joshi in San Francisco. The seminar will be all day both Saturday and Sunday and will cover Goshin-Jitsu and Kime-No-Kata.
