NEW Venue Location for CENCO Cup

Hi Judo Community,

All I can say is, sometimes life just hits you like a bag of rocks!

The CENCO Cup committee was just informed that San Jose State must complete some previously unforeseen maintenance at the Yoshiro Uchida Hall on the same weekend as our event.

We begged, pleaded and tried to have the maintenance postponed but to no prevail.

Now the good news. With the help of the CENCO community, we were able to procure a replacement venue in 1 day that is only about 6 miles away!

New location of the CENCO Cup (thank you Alejandro!)

August Boeger Middle School

Main Gymnasium

1944 Flint Ave. San Jose, CA 95148

Schedule of the day is to remain the same with weigh-ins starting at 7:30AM.

Please inform all your participants and parents of the location change.

We apologize for this inconvenience but Together Through Judo, we will have our #CENCOmoment (just not at SJSU!).

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. Final registration closes this Friday at midnight and brackets will be out by the following Monday.

Mr. Yosh Uchida has extended an invitation to Cenco clubs to participate in the Friday evening (5:30-7:30) open practice at Yosh Uchida Hall dojo.

For young students, we recommend age 13 and older, at least orange/green belt, but please use your discretion.

He is also asking Cenco club instructors to attend to learn teaching techniques from the SJSU instructors, such as Mike Swain, Kosuke Tanaka and Toni Lettner.

The IJF has an app!

It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty dang good. Currently it has over 40,000 videos from recent competitions. You can search by athlete, and there is a very nifty advance wheel that lets you go frame by frame in high definition – a much better setup for reviewing videos than what you can do on youtube.
